These are the best socks I've found in years. They stay up, fit my foot snuggly, and have just the right compression in the calf. This is my second order, and I have not washed them yet. The ones from the previous order, have not been washed yet, and I'm curious to see how they do next time. The others shrank quite a bit, but not consistently one from another. I thought all might be lost until I tried stretching them out to their original length, they all became long enough to wear, I do have to just stretch them each time after washing. One pair developed lots of knubbly pills on the outside, the others did not. I always was in cold water, and have a gas dryer which does not get super hot like the electric dryers. My only consistent difficulty is that the inside of the socks have developed loose and looping threads where the second color patterns appear, as happens during the knitting process if the tension isn't consistent. They can be a bit tricky to get on, but if you make sure that your toes don't get hooked in the loops, they are comfortable once on your legs, because the loops are no longer noticeable. I leave reviews very rarely, that I did for these, is indicative of how much I like them.
