Bought these for my wife she has type 1 diabetes so her feet are always ice cold! I more or less bout them as a joke but she uses them every day nowThese socks are pretty amazing. I have reynaud's and am a snowboarder. My feet are cold almost immediately in the morning and nothing has been a consistent solution. Until these. They charge quickly, so I was skeptical that they would last all day. There are three levels, and the lowest is surprisingly plenty! With the low level of constant heat, nothing gets out of control, so the higher levels were never needed. It's easy to accidentally hit the button on the chair lift in particular, and they immediately get too hot! Never thought I'd say that. At the lowest (blue) level, they lasted the entire day - 8am to 4:30p and weren't completely depleted when I took them off after the mountain. The drawbacks would be: First, the ribbing is intense and the socks are tight (my calves are not particularly slim). I actually put a super thin base layer *under* the socks, to alleviate the digging into my skim from the ribbing - worked great. If I hadn't waited until the last minute on this trip, I might have tried a few different pairs, but that solution worked, and will also help around town at home, in which scenario I won't have them on for 8 hours, so the tightness will be less intense. Secondly, the button, once on, is very sensitive, so it was quite easy for it to be hit by mistake and cycle from low (blue) to red (high) without realizing it until my foot was burning up. That said, very easy to click it back, but had to pull up the hem of my pants to see the color of the light - a low effort, all things considered. These are serious game changers, and I'm so happy I took the chance on them. And they look really cool (got the black). Thanks very much!I did not like how tight they fit. So I am ordering a bigger size . They kept my feet nice and warm all day skiing . I had them on low we skied for for 7 and a half hours. I hope the next size up will fit better because they did work. Also when putting them on make sure the wire goes to back of the leg and not over ankle bone. They feel strange at first but you get use to them almost immediately when skiing.I wore these socks for downhill skiing at 20°F. The fit was good with the battery pack easily fitting above my boot. They kept my feet warm for 6 hours set on high. Then I noticed my feet cooling down as the batteries died. Next time I'll set them on medium for longer battery life.Do provide some warmth. Mid calf would be a better product.Some parts can get hot and burn.These worked well. I used them for bike riding in 28º degree weather. I didn't need shoe covers, they kept my feet warm the entire ride on the medium setting. They are longer than they need to be, I wear a 10.5 shoe and got large, and these go all the way up to just under behind my knee. It would be nice if these weren't as long.
